RGRTA is apparently hitting all its marks on its way to getting final approval from the city for a Mortimer Street transit center.

"I'm very impressed and pleased with their level of responsiveness," says City Council member Carla Palumbo.

Palumbo heads up a task force charged with overseeing the project.

Tom Richards may be the one person everyone in Rochester -- liberal, conservative, independent -- can agree on (except perhaps Mary Anna), which is to say NO ONE who knows him or has studied his record would want him as Mayor. Except perhaps some of the swells at the Genesee Valley Club or Nixon Peabody. But none of them live in the City, or have been fired from their jobs at RG&E.

Since gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo announced in May that Mayor Robert Duffy would be his running mate, City Hall has been in limbo.

That's not good, given that the city's persistent challenges need constant attention and charismatic leadership.

Months ago, gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo chose Mayor Duffy as his running mate. Come November, if the Cuomo/Duffy ticket is elected, the mayor will vacate his office, leaving it up to City Council to determine how his seat will be filled.
