City officials are holding four public meetings this week regarding the Rochester Bicycle Master Plan.
Erik Frisch, a transportation specialist for the city, says planners want to get an idea of what city cyclists need. They also want input on key destinations for cyclists and what on-street amenities are needed, he says. Those could include bike lanes and shared-use lane markings.
The city's consultant inventoried the existing cycling infrastructure. It also worked with subcontractors to identify bike networks and how well the roads accommodate bicyclists. Frisch says that information will be available at the meetings and people will be able to comment.
All of the meetings will start at 6 p.m. The schedule:
•Wednesday, August 25: Aquinas Institute cafeteria, 1127 Dewey Avenue;
•Wednesday, August 25: Phyllis Wheatley Community Library, 33 Dr. Samuel McCree Way;
•Thursday, August 26: North Street Community Center, 700 North Street;
•Thursday, August 26: Artisan Church, 1235 South Clinton Avenue.
